You only have to say the words "artificial intelligence," and images from The Matrix and of robots taking over the world come to mind. But what if artificial intelligence (AI) doesn’t threaten our jobs, safety or well-being but can actually contribute to helping them instead?
The Future Of Work
Despite fears of artificial intelligence wiping out our jobs, it can actually create far more jobs than it will destroy. It is estimated that around 85% of the jobs that today’s students will be doing in 2030 haven’t been invented yet. Secondly, AI has already been fueling an unprecedented demand for positions such as machine learning engineer (+344% growth), robotics engineer (+128% growth) and data scientist (+78%) over the last five years.
And that’s not all. Not only is AI creating more engagement opportunities for us, but it will also make them more enjoyable: Using AI to automate the most boring aspects of our work can help us become happier and more efficient at what we do. Generation Z — the workforce of the future — agrees, with 80% aspiring to work with cutting edge technology and 91% saying technology would influence their choice among similar job offers.
